Tour Plan

Day 1: Arrival Entebbe

Day 2: Entebbe to Mabamba Swamp and Jinja

After breakfast, meet your driver-guide for a briefing before heading to Mabamba Swamp. Explore papyrus channels in search of the elusive shoebill bird while enjoying the lush wetland scenery. Later, travel to Kampala for panoramic views from Gaddafi National Mosque before driving three hours to Jinja. Check in at 2 Friends Hotel or similar for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: White-Water Rafting on the Nile

Start your day with breakfast before heading to the Bujagali rapids for an exhilarating white-water rafting adventure. Navigate Grade II–V rapids with optional stops for photos and a riverside barbecue lunch. After a thrilling day on the Nile, return to your hotel to relax and share stories. Day 4: Source of the Nile and Sipi Falls

Day 5: Abseiling, Rock Climbing, and Coffee Tour

Day 6: Sipi Falls to Pian Upe Game Reserve

After breakfast, transfer to Pian Upe Game Reserve, a vast savannah known for its wildlife and bird species. On arrival, enjoy an afternoon game drive spotting antelopes, zebras, giraffes, and unique birdlife. The reserve provides excellent photography opportunities and encounters with wild savannah species. Overnight at Pian Upe Savannah Cottages or proceed to Moroto for overnight.

Day 7: Game Drive and Moroto Cultural Experience

Start with breakfast, then journey north to Moroto, passing scenic savannah landscapes. Arrive at Kara Tunga Safari Camp for lunch beneath acacia trees. Day 8: Moroto to Kidepo Valley National Park

Day 11: Kidepo Valley to Murchison Falls NP

Day 13: Shoebill Trekking and Top of Murchison Falls

Day 14: Chimpanzee Trekking and Rhino Tracking

After breakfast, trek Budongo Forest in search of chimpanzees, observing their social behavior and habitat. Later, transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track rhinos in their natural habitat. Learn about conservation efforts protecting these rare animals. Return to Kabaraga Resort for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 15: Transfer to Fort Portal

Day 16: Semliki National Park and Kibale NP

Depart early for Semliki National Park, visiting the hot springs and enjoying the scenic landscapes. Overnight at Duchess Hotel or similar, ready for chimpanzee trekking or forest exploration.

Day 17: Optional Chimpanzee Trekking and Rwenzori NP Transfer

Start the day with an optional chimpanzee trekking experience in Kibale National Park, observing these primates in their lush rainforest habitat. Later, transfer to Rwenzori Mountains National Park, passing scenic landscapes and small villages along the way. Overnight at Trekkers Hostel or similar, resting for the upcoming multi-day mountain trek.

Day 18: Rwenzori Trek to Sine Camp 2,596m

Begin your trek at Trekkers Hostel (1,450m), walking through Afro Montane forest with towering trees and diverse wildlife. Spot blue monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, and various bird species along the trail. Pass waterfalls and moss-covered vegetation, including the spectacular Enock’s Falls near Sine Camp. Overnight in wooden huts at Sine Camp, surrounded by serene forest scenery

Day 19: Rwenzori Trek to Mutinda Camp 3,588m

Ascend through the Bamboo-Mimulopsis Zone, a steep and lush area with moss-covered rocks and streams. Pause at Kalalama Camp (3,147m) for refreshments before continuing to Mutinda Camp. Along the trail, cross mossy rivers and encounter giant heather trees, Usnea lichen, and alpine flowers. Optional climb to Mutinda Lookout (3,975m) provides panoramic views of the Rwenzori Mountains. Overnight at Mutinda Camp.

Day 20: Rwenzori Trek to Bugata Camp 4,062m

Hike through tussock grasslands and everlasting flowers while navigating boggy sections in the wet season. Pass through Namusangi Valley and enjoy spectacular views of Mutinda Peaks. Cross streams and observe waterfalls along the trail. The diverse vegetation includes giant lobelias, moss-covered trees, and alpine flora. Reach Bugata Camp, a high-altitude resting point with stunning surrounding vistas, for overnight stay.

Day 21: Rwenzori Trek to Hunwick’s Camp 3,974m

Depart Bugata Camp and ascend via Bamwanjarra Pass (4,450m), a location with breathtaking views of Rwenzori’s three main peaks. Navigate mossy forests, lobelia, and giant groundsel plants while descending slightly to follow the valley edge. Arrive at Hunwick’s Camp, perched above a deep valley, offering panoramic views of Mt Stanley, Mt Baker, Weismann’s Peak, and McConnell’s Prong. Overnight at Hunwick’s Camp.

Day 22: Rwenzori Trek Summit Mt Baker 4,842m and Return to Hunwick’s Camp

Begin early, around 6:30am, for the ascent of Mt Baker (4,842m). The climb involves steep rocky sections and a glacier walk. Enjoy breathtaking views of surrounding peaks and alpine landscapes during the 4–6 hour climb. Descend along the same route to Hunwick’s Camp (3,974m) for overnight. This challenging day provides a rewarding mountain summit experience and spectacular photographic opportunities.

Day 23: Rwenzori Trek Hike to Margherita Camp 4,485m

Descend to valley floors before climbing through Scoot Elliot Pass to reach Margherita Camp (4,485m). En route, pass stunning Lake Kitandara, alpine vegetation, and high-altitude moss forests. Observe giant lobelias, heathers, and unique mountain flora. Meals are provided at the camp, and the serene environment offers a peaceful setting after a day of strenuous hiking. Overnight at Margherita Camp.

Day 23: Rwenzori Trek Summit Margherita Peak 5,109m and Descend to Bujuku Valley

Wake early at 1:30am for the climb to Margherita Peak on Mt Stanley (5,109m). Navigate glaciers, rocky ridges, and alpine terrain to reach the summit, enjoying incredible panoramic views of the Rwenzori Mountains. Descend past Irene Lake to Bujuku Valley, crossing bogs and volcanic formations. Overnight is in a small rock shelter near Mt Speke, providing rest for the next day.

Day 25: Rwenzori Trek Summit Vittorio Emmanuel 4,890m and Descend to Hunwick’s Camp

Climb Mt Speke (4,890m) in the morning, passing high-altitude alpine terrain, moss-covered forests, and small streams. Summit for panoramic mountain views before descending Scott Elliot Pass and returning to Hunwick’s Camp. This day blends alpine climbing with breathtaking vistas and offers excellent opportunities to observe high-altitude flora. Overnight at Hunwick’s Camp.

Day 26: Rwenzori Trek Summit Weismann’s Peak 4,620m and Hike to Kiharo Camp 3,430m

Depart Hunwick’s Camp for a ridge climb toward Oliver’s Pass (4,505m), offering panoramic views of all three main peaks. Optional summit of Weismann’s Peak (4,620m) for fit climbers provides a rewarding experience. Descend to Kiharo Camp (3,430m), situated in a deep valley surrounded by cliffs, dense vegetation, and waterfalls. Overnight at Kiharo Camp, resting after a challenging day in the Rwenzori Mountains.

Day 27: Rwenzori Trek Descend to Basecamp

After a challenging but rewarding trek, hike down through the Nyamwamba Valley toward Trekkers Hostel, covering approximately 15 kilometers. The trail features stunning waterfalls, moss-covered rocks, and dense forests. Along the way, enjoy the breathtaking scenery and reflect on your Rwenzori adventure. At basecamp, participate in a debrief session and receive your trekking certificates. Overnight at Trekkers Hostel.

Day 28: Rwenzori Mountains NP to Queen Elizabeth NP

Depart early for Queen Elizabeth National Park, traveling through scenic landscapes of tea plantations, rolling hills, and local villages. Upon arrival, enjoy a game drive spotting elephants, lions, buffalo, and antelopes. In the late afternoon, embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, observing hippos, crocodiles, and diverse birdlife. Dinner and overnight at Engiri Game Lodge or similar.

Day 29: Ishasha Sector Game Drive

Travel to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NP, famous for its tree-climbing lions. Spend the day on safari, spotting leopards, elephants, buffalo, and a variety of savannah species. Enjoy panoramic views of the plains and take photographs of wildlife in their natural habitat. Afternoon at leisure or optional additional game drive. Overnight at Ishasha Pride or similar.

Day 30: Transfer to Bwindi/Mgahinga Gorilla NP

After breakfast, drive to Bwindi or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, passing through scenic highlands, tea plantations, and small villages. On arrival, settle into your lodge and prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure. Guides will provide briefings on park rules and gorilla tracking etiquette. Day 31: Gorilla Trekking Experience Bwindi/Mgahinga Gorilla NP

Wake early for a guided trek in Bwindi or Mgahinga NP in search of mountain gorillas. Hike through dense forest, swampy paths, and steep slopes to locate a gorilla family. Spend up to one hour observing their behavior, social interactions, and playful antics. Return to your lodge in the afternoon for relaxation. Dinner and overnight at Travelers Rest Hotel or similar.

Day 32: Golden Monkey Trekking Mgahinga Gorilla NP

After breakfast, embark on a guided trek to observe golden monkeys in Mgahinga Gorilla NP. The hike passes through bamboo forests, montane vegetation, and scenic valleys. Watch the playful monkeys swinging through trees and enjoy birdwatching along the trail. Return to your lodge for lunch, then relax and recount the day’s wildlife encounters. Day 33: Hike Mount Sabyinyo Volcano

Climb Sabyinyo Volcano, located on the Uganda-Rwanda border. The hike traverses montane forest, bamboo zones, and volcanic terrain with stunning vistas of the Virunga mountain range. Day 34: Hike Mount Muhabura Volcano

Day 35: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park Rwanda

Evening at leisure to relax, prepare for optional hiking or gorilla trekking, and enjoy local cuisine. Overnight at resort.

Day 36: Optional Gorilla Trekking or Mount Bisoke Volcano Hike

Choose between gorilla trekking in Volcanoes NP or a hike up Bisoke Volcano. Gorilla trekking involves tracking habituated gorilla families through montane forests, while Bisoke Volcano offers crater lakes and volcanic landscapes. Both activities provide immersive wildlife and nature experiences. Return to Isange Paradise Resort for overnight.

Day 37: Gorilla Museum and Kigali Transfer

After breakfast, visit the Gorilla Museum to learn about conservation efforts, gorilla ecology, and local community initiatives. Explore the Gorilla Guardian Village, meeting local guides and trackers. Later, transfer to Kigali for a visit to the Genocide Memorial Museum to gain insight into Rwanda’s history. Day 38: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi Uganda

Day 40: Nature Walk and Transfer to Entebbe
